Several weeks have passed since Microsoft announced its own Surface RT and Surface Pro Tablets but its only now that Microsoft has announced a release date.

The Surface RT model will be released on October 26th this year – so the launch date is the same as that of the Windows 8 itself.

The higher-end model of the Surface, the Surface Pro will be launched 3 months after the release of the Surface RT.

There’s no information at all revealed by Microsoft regarding the price yet, but the Surface RT is said to retail at around $500 and will compete with the rival tablets while the Surface Pro might will retail at around $900-$1000 and will compete with the ultrabooks and laptops of this price range.
